Irish Golf Leaderboard Statement

It is with great regret and sadness that I have to tell you that Irish Golf Leaderboard will have to postpone all events of 2026 with immediate effect.

All participants scheduled to play or that have credit will be recompensed with a future event or a refund as soon as possible.  But securing the adequate equity for this is possibly going to take up to 6-12 months.  I deeply apologise for this inconvenience and up to today I was expecting to secure funding to continue unaffected and not have any issues.  But unfortunately, it didn’t happen and now all I can do is say I’m really sorry and communicate that remedy will be sorted out in due course.

IGL has faced a large amount of problems since its inception in 2020, just before the lockdowns started.  As a new business with no proof of earnings from the previous year I received no government assistance in that time and it put a more than significant debt on it from day 1.

Most organisations would start with capital as opposed to debts, but I carried on always looking for solutions, hoping to work my way out of it or securing a partner with capital or loans.

The former solution was even looking very possible, but 9 postponements due to the worst storm in 100 years at the start of last season and unforeseen upgrades to other courses have put so much pressure that it has forced us into action to postpone the 2026 events until an adequate remedial solution can be found.  

All the way from 2020 to now I have run the events very well and received rounding praise for that, with many many happy customers into the thousands of participants, so it is really devastating for this to happen when you’ve built something fantastic.  I really thought it’d work out just fine.  It still will in remedy, but this is an inconvenience for people that I wanted to avoid.  I have worked so hard and through constant stress for several years to avoid such a thing and dreamt of a perfect outcome.

Communication will continue via this page every few months on an updated basis and when remedy is ready to be enacted fully and at such time I will contact each individual booker for their respective groups to get all sorted.
